Joy Guillemot

World Health Organisation, Public Health and Environment, Geneva
DrPH candidate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore

Joy is an ecological anthropologist and environmental health scientist. She is completing a PhD at Johns Hopkins and works at the World Health Organization in Geneva as an expert in Climate Adaptation for Public Health protection. Joy has spent much of the last 10 years on the front lines of humanitarian and development action implementing public health programmes in the context of disasters, conflict, and fragile environments across Africa, Asia, Latin America and small islands. Today, Joy is on the front lines of another challenge, providing technical guidance to partners and governments on how to increase understanding about the risks that climate change poses to health; enhance decision-making and planning; and strengthen the ability of health systems to prevent and respond to health risks associated with global environmental changes.
