I think you must have problems in your life. Going on this trip and opening up about it all must complete yourself. You are missing spirituality and have found this myth as an outlet to make yourself feel like your making a difference in the world. You have wealthy parents and just being landed a good job was boring hey. Well CO2 is not the problem, pollution and overpopulation is. Your being taken for a ride by people who are going to make a lot of money taxing the world and stealing their money and in turn killing millions of the poor with overpriced food. Basically the same that GWB did with oil, but this time it’s with a fairy tale which will cost the lives of millions and do nothing to save the forests and clean the pollution in the world. This is probably the most stupid stunt I’ve seen in global warming so far, even more stupid then the group that tried to get to the north pole because they thought it was warm now and failed and needed rescue 1/2 way there.

I agree with you that carbon offsetting is a dishonest way of making people feel less guilty about their good fortune. Taking your analysis one step further, in the post-religious, post-ideological west, that is all the cult of global warming is: a way of giving comfortable people something to worry about.

Genuine environmental challenges are being sidelined whilst this mania continues, and risk being dismissed by association once we shake our heads and wonder how we could ever have been so deluded.

Enjoy your winter holidays, but please stop trying to save the world: all you are doing is making people cynical or gullible. If you need a cause, environmental or otherwise, there are plenty of real problems that still need solving: this in all probability isn’t one of them.

Well done, you do what you have to do, we are unfortunately being governed by idiots,(all the brains are busy making money) some of the extra intelligent comments here like Baa Humbug should take there mentality to the intelligent side of life and visit Africa, or a Muslim country and preach your views in saving the planet, I think you would be minus hands or head for you troubles, until you get 40% (yes only 40%)of the worlds population to read and write don’t even try to change my lifestile

I only hope these nuts will eventually get stuck in the ice as it did that nut last year who wanted to reach the North Pole in a Kayak and had to be rescued 900 km away from the pole.

Or the other wackos in the Catlin expedition that pretended they were measuring Arctic ice thickness (while faking biometric data) and also gave up when they found out the Arctic was not melting at all!

Of course, somebody is funding them and all is about earning lots of cash and celebrity. They should get a decent and honest job.

The 6kg of CO2 Francesca released is really no big deal. Ask her about the nearly 455kg she releases yearly through breathing. Multiply that by 6.5 billion or so people on the planet. Now we’re talking some real numbers.

Not that it matters though. Despite the best efforts of Al Gore to the contrary, more and more people are waking up to the fraud of human caused global warming. You should too.

Was that boat you were travelling on using Solar or Biodeisel like Al Gore 100 foot house boat?

I mean the amount of carbon that boat used to get there, and fly to Iceland to take the boat, how many people on the boat, just to take this picture? Did you get frozen out on the way home? Did you turn the heating on in the boat or did you brave it carbon neutral with your oil based trending ice wear?

I was just pondering if this woman paid her carbon credit for the fuel the ship used to take here there… and the carbon credits for all the other people involved in her publicity stunt? And did she pay for the co2 that she and everyone else on her stunt exhaled?
co2 never caused climate change in the past and there is no indication that this valuable life producing gas is doing so now. In fact when co2 levels rise because of tempature rising that is really caused by the sun cycles the plants respond with better growth. All humans are born with brains but only a few actually understand how to use thier mind to think properly. Sadly this woman is not one of those who thinks clearly.

To celebrate Francesca’s ‘green’ art….i shall create my own ‘celebration of CO2′ art.
My art will be this:….today i will drive to 7-11 in my F-150 (5.4 V-8)…i will drive during rush hour with my windows down & air conditioning on….i will also drive in 1st gear only….once at 7-11 i buy a slurpy and leave my F-150 idling outside. This is my carbon art….aren’t i artistic?? I figure
100lbs of CO2 emitted & all the leafy plants nearby are extra happy about this.

I think the real question that everyone has missed has to be asked:

Did Miss Galeazzi get laid on this expedition? No, really… you haven’t lived until you’ve had hot sweaty sex in the middle of arctic conditions, your tent fabric ruffling in the breeze, your body sweat freezing you to the floor of your petroleum-based insulated tent, the others of your expedition forced to listen to your inexpert grunts and exertions while they silently pleasure themselves in their own sleeping bags.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure that would have released more than 6Kg of CO2. Unless she’s REALLY lousy at it, or had a really really fast partner.
