The Farewell Glacier by Nick Drake
A new collection of poems
Launch event: 24 April 2012, Waterstones London

Nick Drake’s latest collection of poetry The Farewell Glacier gather together voices from across the Arctic past – explorers, whalers, mapmakers, scientists, financiers, the famous and the forgotten – as well as attempting to give voice to the confronting mysteries of the High Arctic: the animal spirits, the shape-shifters and the powers of ice and tundra. The collection looks into the future, to the year 2100, when this glorious winter Eden will have vanished forever. Nicks participation in the 2010 Arctic voyage was the stimulator and provider of many of the pieces.

For the book launch Nick reads poems of the collection and will talk with Matt Clarke, fellow voyager and creator of the High Arctic exhbition at the National Maritime Museum, a immersive installation featuring poetry by Nick Drake. Join him on 24 April 2012 from 6.30pm at the Waterstones bookstore, Trafalgar Square in London.
