‘Particle’ (Things Unseen)
Exhibition
3 August - 16 September 2012

Solo exhibition by Anne Bevan with Shetland Arts (Bonhoga Gallery) and the Shetland Museum and Archive (Pier Store).

‘Particle’ (Things Unseen) will involve two installations of work in sculpture, photography, print and video, developed from research with marine scientists looking at the microscopic life and energy of the sea. The project Things Unspoken, ‘Particle’ (Things Unseen) (with artist Andrea Roe), also involves contributions from some of Scotland’s leading writers, including Janice Galloway, Jen Hadfield, Alan Spence, Robert Alan Jamieson, Kathleen Jamie, along with marine bio-geologist Dr Kate Darling.

Project supported by the Royal Scottish Academy

Anne Bevan was born in Orkney and now based in Edinburgh and Achiltibuie. Her work has often been concerned with water, the sea, and the idea of ‘making the invisible visible’. This has involved cross-disciplinary work with science, industry and creative practitioners. Current work involves a project with a marine bio-scientist looking at microscopic organisms in relation to ocean temperature change in the North Atlantic.

Currently exhibiting as well Things Unspoken.
