Vicky Long

Artist and Cape Farewell Project Director
Vicky Long has a background in theatre and scenography. Since 2005 she has produced exhibitions, events and film for Cape Farewell. Vicky enjoys working with a wide range of artists, to create work that gets right to the heart of what it is to be living today.

Vicky introduced song to Cape Farewell’s portfolio in 2007, co-curating a night of a night of new songs, performances and artworks at Whitechapel as part of the Late Night Fridays series.

She joined Cape Farewell’s 2007 Art/Science Expedition, crossing the Greenland Sea, from Spitsbergen to the East Coast of Greenland, encountering extreme winds and unusually high levels of ice driven south from the pole – an experience that drove home the fragility of human existence. Since returning from the voyage, Vicky has collaborated with Max Eastley on a sound work for the Eden Project and has also recorded Oscar Wild’s ‘Selfish Giant’ for a Christmas installation at Southbank Centre.

Vicky has a background in theatre. She has worked in the UK, Netherlands, Czech Republic, India and Hong Kong. In London she has worked for Cultural Industry, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe and LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre). She is also a voice-actor and singer.
