Sasha Constable
Sasha is an International Artist, Sculptor and Print Maker
Sasha has been living and working in Dorset since she returned from Cambodia in 2018.
Between 2000-2018 Sasha lived and worked in Cambodia, initially invited as an artist in residence for the World Monuments Fund, this then led to a number of other roles within the art sector. She was very actively engaged in the vibrant contemporary art scene in Cambodia and has been a teacher and mentor to many young upcoming artists as well as coordinating large-scale art projects.
Returning to the UK in 2018 Sasha now resides in Dorset and is enjoying re-connecting with her roots in the South-West. She recently created a new series of linocut prints based on Cerne Abbas and has started teaching again.
Sasha has created The Otter Serpent in Dragon Form for The Cerne Giant Festival 2023, commissioned by Cape Farewell. The Cerne is one of the few chalk rivers worldwide, flowing into the river Frome famed as a chalk habitat for salmon as they breed and migrate to the High Arctic. The Otter Serpent/Dragon created by Sasha Constable champions our need to nurture the precious water that flows through our habitat and village like the blood coursing through our veins.
