Sasha Constable

Artist, Teacher, Art Project Coordinator and Curator.

Sasha has a Sculpture Degree from Wimbledon School of Art and a PGCE in Art and Design from Westminster College, Oxford. Her sculptures are predominantly carved in stone and her prints are created using the relief printmaking technique.

Between 2000-2018 Sasha lived and worked in Cambodia, initially invited as an artist in resident for the World Monuments Fund, her work then moved into various other roles within the art sector.  She was very actively engaged in the vibrant contemporary art scene in Cambodia and has been a teacher and
mentor to many young upcoming artists as well as coordinating large-scale art projects, curating art spaces and managing galleries. Returning to the UK in 2018 Sasha now resides in Dorset and is enjoying reconnecting with her roots in the South-West.

Commissioned by Cape Farewell, The Otter Serpent in Dragon Form was created by Sasha and members of the local community for the Cerne Giant Festival 2023. The Cerne is one of the few chalk rivers worldwide, flowing into the river Frome famed as a chalk habitat for salmon as they breed and migrate to the High Arctic. The Otter Serpent Dragon champions our need to nurture the precious water that flows through our habitat and village like the blood coursing through our veins.
